JCA have acted as architects for this FrancoAmerican company’s plant at Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork through several phases of development since the early 1990s. The latest phase was the provision of new offices combined with canteen and other welfare facilities. The extension was designed around a central atrium which provided daylight and ventilation to offices in an open plan configuration at ground level with, at first floor level, a series of conference rooms on one side of the building and canteen at the external side overlooking the countryside. A new double height entrance was also part of the extension which was of a scale to give a uniting focus to the disparate scale of the much extended plant. JCA were responsible for the fitting out as well as furniture and fittings.
