John F. Supple HQ Offices, Bishopstown, Cork
John F Supple outgrew their office building in Bishopstown , Cork and required a new HQ building which would reflect their growing standing in the construction industry. The site was a difficult one in that it was way below the road level and also separated from the road by a road -widening provision. JCA’s solution was to provide a car park below the building and have ground floor level at the same level as the road. A bridge was required from the ground level to the main entrance door which introduced a strong and exciting feature to the building. The offices have a top lit central atrium on the upper floors which provides light and ventilation to a somewhat deep plan building. The construction is steel frame with brick load bearing walls in some instances and facing panel as infill. This building will shortly be extended again. JCA were also responsible for the fit out.
